Power Electronics Inspires STEAM Vocations Among More Than 250 Schoolchildren in Riba-roja de Túria

Power Electronics celebrated the International Day of Women and Girls in Science with an educational event aimed at more than 250 sixth-grade students from Riba-roja de Túria. The activity was organized in collaboration with the Riba-roja de Túria City Council and the Despierta Sonrisas Foundation, with the goal of inspiring STEAM vocations, fostering interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, and highlighting the role of women in the technology sector.

The event had a playful and 100% charitable focus and formed part of Power Electronics’ commitment to education, innovation, and equal opportunities from an early age.

An Immersive Experience to Learn Science

The centerpiece of the day was the activity “Space Mission to the Solar System” a participatory experience led by the science communicator known as Astronaut Lili. Through this educational

journey, students discovered in an engaging and accessible way how science, innovation, and sustainable energy are key elements for the future of the planet.

Students from C.E.I.P. Camp de Túria, Asunción de Nuestra Señora Charter School, C.E.I.P. Mas d’Escoto, C.E.I.P. Eres Altes, and C.E.I.P. Cervantes actively took part in an initiative designed to spark curiosity, encourage scientific thinking, and bring STEAM disciplines into the classroom in a different and memorable way.

Real Role Models in Engineering

The event also featured the participation of Elisa Blasco, an engineer from Power Electronics’ Product and Applications Department, who shared her professional experience with the students. Her contribution offered a relatable and practical view of the opportunities provided by STEAM careers and the diversity of profiles that make up the technology sector.

This meeting helped reinforce one of the initiative’s main objectives: inspiring new generations and providing real role models that help break down stereotypes and broaden horizons from an early age.

Institutional Collaboration with Social Impact

The activity was made possible thanks to the collaboration between Power Electronics, the Riba-roja de Túria City Council, and the Despierta Sonrisas Foundation, which contributed its expertise in developing educational projects with social impact focused on children.

Through initiatives like this, Power Electronics strengthens its commitment to education. Investing in science outreach and promoting STEAM vocations from an early age is key to building a more inclusive future.
