UK ultra-fast charging hub exceeds 60,000 annual charging sessions, leading the way for fast charging in Europe

In 2025, a major European charging hub, located in the United Kingdom, faced a critical challenge: rapidly growing EV traffic was putting increasing pressure on its existing charging infrastructure. The operator needed a solution capable of delivering consistent ultra‑fast charging power, minimizing congestion, and supporting future expansion.

To address these needs, the operator deployed our NB Station 1.44 MW ultra‑fast charging system paired with 8 Slim double dispensers, creating a robust configuration of 16 simultaneous charging points. This setup was specifically engineered to improve user experience, reduce waiting times, and maintain operational stability even during periods of high demand. 

System Design and Power Capabilities 

With up to 1.44 MW of installed power, the NB Station can intelligently distribute power across 16 points or deliver up to 360 kW to four points simultaneously ideal for next‑generation EVs requiring rapid charging speeds. 

The flexible configuration allowed the operator to manage unpredictable traffic flows, adapt to spikes in demand, and maintain a smooth charging experience for users. 

Advanced Technology That Transforms Operations 

The feature Boost Mode (500A) increases current for non-cooled dispensers, enabling ultra-fast charging in less time. This reduces wait times and enhances the user experience.  

Meanwhile, Plug & Charge technology introduced a seamless authentication system, allowing drivers to plug in and charge immediately without apps or cards. This ensures a secure, seamless, and frictionless experience, improving customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.  

For the operator, this meant fewer user errors, lower support requests, and improved throughput across the site. 

Real Performance Results In Under A Year 

The installation quickly proved its value. According to operational data collected throughout 2025: 

• Peak power demand reached 920.6 kW, confirming the site's heavy usage. 
• Total energy delivered exceeded 1.88 GWh. 
• More than 62,800 charging sessions were recorded. 

These figures reflect a highly active site operating at exceptional levels of availability and reliability. 

Impact On Roi and Customer Experience 

With more completed sessions and fewer charging interruptions, the operator saw a clear acceleration in ROI. The strong performance allowed them to consider expanding the site and replicating the model in additional locations.
