The Mutua Madrid Open Reaffirms Its Commitment to Electric Mobility in 2026 with Power Electronics

Power Electronics will once again be an official sponsor of the Mutua Madrid Open in its 2026 edition, consolidating a partnership that now spans four consecutive years and promotes electric mobility at one of the premier sporting events on the international calendar. This alliance further strengthens sustainability as a core pillar of the tournament’s operations.

The Mutua Madrid Open Reaffirms Its Commitment to Electric Mobility in 2026 with Power Electronics

As a Spanish multinational specializing in technological solutions for the energy transition and electric mobility, Power Electronics will again provide the Mutua Madrid Open with electric vehicle charging infrastructure at the Caja Mágica venue. For this edition, the company will deploy a network of 22 chargers, with the capacity to charge up to 44 electric vehicles simultaneously, dedicated to the tournament’s internal operations.

Charging infrastructure integrated into event operations

The charging solution installed by Power Electronics is fully integrated the tournament’s logistics and ensures efficient, quiet, and emissions-free transportation, without interfering with the pace or specific demands of an ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 competition.

In addition, the company will offer free charging in the VIP parking area, enhancing the experience for attendees with access to this zone and bringing electric mobility closer to an ever-growing audience.

A measurable impact on sustainability

The experience gained in previous editions demonstrates the real impact of this sustainable mobility model. During the tournament, more than 1,900 charging sessions are currently carried out, preventing the emission of over 49 tons of CO₂—equivalent to more than 245,000 kilometers not driven in internal combustion vehicles.

Looking ahead to the 2026 edition, the goal is to exceed these results by increasing the number of charging sessions throughout the tournament and further amplifying the positive impact of electric mobility on the event’s development. These figures show that when sustainability is integrated through technology and careful planning, it delivers measurable and long-lasting benefits.

A sponsorship aligned with Power Electronics’ sustainability strategy

The partnership with the Mutua Madrid Open is part of Power Electronics’ global sustainability strategy, focused on promoting technological solutions that facilitate the decarbonization of transport and more efficient energy use, especially in demanding, highly complex operational environments.

In this context, the Mutua Madrid Open reinforces its position as an international benchmark in sustainability, serving as a real showcase of how electric mobility can be effectively integrated into major events without compromising operations or global reach.

In its 23rd edition, to be held from April 21 to May 4 in Madrid, the tournament once again demonstrates that elite sport and sustainability can not only coexist, but also advance together toward a more responsible, efficient model aligned with today’s and tomorrow’s energy challenges.
