Power Electronics promotes for the second year the E-Mobility Hackathon in Valencia

From September 13th to 15th, Las Naves in Valencia hosted the second annual E-Mobility Hackathon, organized by ONKLUB with primary collaboration from Power Electronics. Held during European Mobility Week, the event brought together over 60 participants who formed teams to create innovative and creative solutions across various aspects of sustainable mobility and renewable energy.

As the main partner, Power Electronics set the central challenge of the hackathon, encouraging participants to address some of the most pressing challenges of the energy transition. The company leveraged this collaborative environment not only to foster new solutions but also to identify and attract top talent in the sector.

Over the three days, participants worked in teams to develop proposals that met the current demands of the energy transition, with a strong focus on sustainability and technological innovation.

This year’s challenge: Sustainable energy solutions

The primary goal of the hackathon was to develop a comprehensive solution that would promote an efficient transition to a cleaner, more efficient, and sustainable energy system, with a particular focus on integrating renewable energies into cities. Participants tackled key challenges, including:

  • Integrating renewable energies: Optimizing the integration of renewable sources such as solar and wind into the electrical grid.
  • Grid stability: Ensuring the stability of the electrical grid with the increasing penetration of renewable energies.
  • Decarbonization: Promoting the gradual elimination of fossil fuels in electricity generation.
  • Sustainable mobility: Promoting the electrification of transportation and developing smart charging infrastructure.
  • Energy efficiency: Reducing energy consumption in urban areas.
